Everyone has their favourite WordPress plug-ins but here are a few imo that are essential for a WordPress blog. They cover pretty much everything you need to get a site up and running with WordPress whether it be for a business brochure style site or blog with daily posts. They cover:  search engine optimisation | SEO, enquiry forms and navigation.

Probably the most important aspect of any website is the SEO and everything you need to get going is included in the :

1. Google XML Sitemaps

This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.

2. All in One SEO Pack

Which allows you to customise and override the title and meta information for each page or post allowing you to fine tune everything.

3. My Page Order

My page order allows you to manually control the page order within your WordPress blog. Both with main and sub pages and it now has built in widget support.

4. Cforms

Cforms allows you to add multiple enquiry forms to any page or post within WordPress without any programming at all. You can control the look and feel of enquiry form including adding as many or as few fields as you acquire on the forms.
